Ingredients
- Bourbon or whiskey
- Lemon juice
- Orange bitters
- Homemade vanilla chai syrup made with chai tea, maple syrup, vanilla extract and water
- Optional: Sparkling water, orange peel, cinnamon stick, star anise for garnish
Making the Vanilla Chai Syrup
- Bring water to a boil, remove from heat, and steep chai tea bags 10-15 minutes
- Remove tea bags, and add maple syrup. Boil 3-5 minutes.
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract. Let cool before using.
Making the Cocktail
- Add bourbon/whiskey, lemon juice, bitters and chai syrup to cocktail shaker filled with ice
- Shake and strain into a rocks glass filled with ice
- Optional: Top with sparkling water and garnish
